South Africa winger Bryan Habana has been cleared of deliberately kicking France's Vincent Clerc by the International Rugby Board.

Habana was cited for the incident which came during Friday's Test in Toulouse, which France won 20-13.

The IRB said their judicial officer for the match was unable to determine, upon the balance of probabilities, that Habana had deliberately kicked Clerc.

The 26-year-old is now available for the games against Italy and Ireland.

The Western Province winger has not been included in the South Africa side for Tuesday's tour match against Saracens at Wembley.

Television images appeared to show Habana kicking out at Clerc while he lay on the ground in the 38th minute of Saturday's match.

An IRB statement explained: "In arriving at his decision, Professor Crerar considered a series of video clips as well as the player's explanation and was unable to determine, upon the balance of probabilities, that the player had deliberately kicked his opponent.

"A detailed examination of the video clips shows the upward body movement of France number 15 [Damien Traille] while gripping the lower leg of Bryan Habana, pulling Habana's leg towards him and the prostrate player, number 14 of France [Clerc]."
